What does a Software Engineer do at Frollo?

As a Software Engineer at Frollo you will design, build and deliver high-quality, scalable software that supports our core lending and Open Banking products. Working within a cross-functional engineering team, you will translate product requirements into maintainable code, participate in design and code reviews, own features from implementation through to production, and collaborate with product, QA and operations to ensure reliable delivery. This role suits engineers who value clean design, testable code and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Development: Build, maintain, and document scalable new features while ensuring code is robust and well-tested.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product and mobile teams to scope features, design APIs, and refine the user experience.

• Quality & Security Assurance: Proactively troubleshoot bugs and maintain "bank-level" security standards through rigorous testing and automation.

• Client Integration Support: Act as a technical bridge by onboarding client developers and providing expert support for API integrations.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience developing backend systems

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar, with experience producing production-quality code.

• Practical experience with relational databases and SQL; familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) or containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and source control (Git).

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
